Nintex Promapp supports council shared services agreements.
Up until recently, the council had a manual and rudimentary approach to managing processes based on Visio charts, which could not be easily accessed or updated.
It also operated with paper-based documents which were typically owned by one person within the organization and could not be stored or shared easily across teams.
‘We wanted a tool to document our processes and a system to manage them. We know that Nintex Promapp is used by many other councils in New Zealand and Australia, as well as by leading enterprises of a similar size to our own so it made sense to select this cloud software to meet our future requirements,’ says Shayne Harris, General Manager – Corporate and Regulatory, Manawatu District Council.
Once fully deployed, Nintex Promapp will give the council a framework for its 190 staff to access up-to-date processes, and to drive process improvement to support better service delivery.
Nintex Promapp will also support the delivery of shared services agreements which Manawatu District Council has in place with other councils, most notably with Rangitikei District Council for aspects of council business such as road maintenance services and water operations and treatment.
‘Rangitikei District Council has used Nintex Promapp for some time and gave us feedback on the positive impact the software has had in streamlining their processes and boosting productivity,’ says Harris.
Another key benefit of deploying Nintex Promapp is Manawatu District Council’s existing participation in GoShift, a partnership between New Zealand central and local government which aims to improve performance, consistency and service delivery across building consent systems in participating councils.
GoShift has also deployed Nintex Promapp to support the delivery of a single, best practice quality management system to standardize policy and procedures for councils through standardized forms, templates and checklists as well as its shared online services, data and resources. Manawatu District Council will now enjoy a standardized, seamless Nintex Promapp-based approach to GoShift content.
‘Nintex Promapp will become a management tool rather than just a repository of content and will eventually be deployed right across council operations from HR, finance and corporate support to service delivery. By documenting our processes, we will achieve consistency and remove the risk of interpretation of processes,’ says Harris.
Nintex Promapp has more than 120 local government customers across New Zealand and Australia. Its Local Government Shared Process Library allows councils to share their process knowledge and experience with other councils, enabling participating organizations to gain comprehensive insights into how other councils around New Zealand operate and manage their processes, performance and customer service.
